After a year that was light in cinema, 2021 had plenty to offer. There were musicals, westerns, comic films, dramas, horror films, and everything in between. Below I have listed my 10 personal favorites alongside some notable gems. Note: I do have a few films left to see and will adjust my list if any of them happen to make it. On with the list!

The summer movie season (which occurs from May to August) is right around the corner and this year there will actually be big movies in theaters and through various streaming platforms. Below I have listed the 10 most anticipated titles (in my opinion) in no particular order. Keep in mind the dates could change at any time and more titles could be added to the summer movie season. This list might be entirely pointless given that some of these movies may be delayed until 2021. Then again, some of these movies might/will actually come out in theaters or via streaming. Below, I have listed 10 movies from September to December that I hope we get to see. After a year full of mega-hits, epic franchise conclusions, indie gems, and, well, a whole lot of high grossing Disney films, 2020 looks to be a rather strange year at the movies. With a few possible exceptions, there could very well be zero billion dollar grossing films this year. It seems the studios are saving their major titles for 2021 and beyond. Of course, it’s quite possible movies will overperform at the box office or that movies will come from out of nowhere to surprise audiences.
