Updated! Ranking The Star Trek Series

Trek1 Star Trek Voyager Star Trek- Enterprise Season 4 Blu-ray

Now that the first season of “Star Trek: Picard” has aired in full, the time felt right to update my Star Trek series rankings. As of right now, “Star Trek: The Original Series,” “Star Trek: Enterprise,” “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” “Star Trek: The Animated Series,” and “Star Trek: Discovery” are available on Blu-ray while “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine” and “Star Trek: Voyager” are only available on DVD. “Star Trek: Picard” will undoubtedly hit home video later this year, but you can watch it now on CBS All Access (which is currently offering a free 2 month trial if I’m not mistaken). You can also watch all of the Trek series on that streaming service as well. Anyway, on with the ranking! Continue reading

Top 10 Streaming Services

Net Disney

Although I will always champion physical media over streaming services because you actually get to OWN the movie or show, I fully acknowledge  streaming services are becoming the new norm as they continue to grow in popularity (especially in these difficult times). The problem with streaming services, however, is that there are far too many of them with even more coming in the near future. It’s inevitable that many of these will fold as no consumer can afford all of these (with the exception of the free ad-supported ones). So which ones are worth seeking out? Below I have listed my ten personal favorites.  Continue reading

Top 20 Albums

Beatles Metallica weezer

I’ve been on a bit of a music kick lately so I figured I’d do a personal top 20 albums list. Keep in mind these are in no particular order and I only limited it to one album per band/artist on the list otherwise it would just be a lot of albums by a few bands. Of course, there’s so much that could have made the cut ala Rolling Stones albums, multiple Bruce Springsteen records, any Cake album, The Prodigy’s “Fat of the Land,” AC/DC’s “Back In Black,” any The Raconteurs album, early Modest Mouse and The Strokes, and so many more. 10 Most Anticipated Films Of 2020

Onward.jpg WW.jpg

After a year full of mega-hits, epic franchise conclusions, indie gems, and, well, a whole lot of high grossing Disney films, 2020 looks to be a rather strange year at the movies. With a few possible exceptions, there could very well be zero billion dollar grossing films this year. It seems the studios are saving their major titles for 2021 and beyond. Of course, it’s quite possible movies will overperform at the box office or that movies will come from out of nowhere to surprise audiences. However the year turns out, there are still numerous films to look forward to. Below I have listed the 10 movies (ok, 11) I am personally looking forward to the most. On with the list! Top 10 Films Of 2019

Peanut Silver Avengers

2019 was a bit of an odd year at the movies. Some hyped releases fell flat, a lot of movies were (in my humble opinion) overrated, there were a fair share of crushing disappointments, numerous good movies, and a smattering of gems. Really, it just felt all over the place from a cinematic perspective (moreso than usual). Below I have compiled my list of my 10 (well, technically 11) favorites of the year along with a few notables. Continue reading
