5 Recommended Horror Film Scores

October is here at last and it seems only fitting to kick the month off with a horror centric list. For this one, I am recommending 5 horror film scores for you to check out to get into the Halloween spirit.
1. Friday The 13th Part 3- All of Harry Manfredini’s F13 scores are worth seeking out, but this one is notable for its badass disco theme.
2. Ghosts Of Mars- You can’t make a horror film score list without including a John Carpenter album. Truth be told, you can go with any number of Carpenter scores here (including the obvious “Halloween”), but I went with the lesser known “Ghost Of Mars” due to its lively rock synth score.
3. Psycho- Bernard Herrmann’s string score for the Alfred Hitchcock classic is one of the greatest ever put to film.
4. Phantasm- Fred Myrow and Malcolm Seagrave’s underrated soundtrack is perfectly erie.
5. The Guest- Steve Moore’s moody synth score offers up a nice retro vibe.
