What’s Being Released In October 2026?

Spooky season is here, but October is relatively light in the horror department which is odd given how huge horror has been this year. Still, you can expect some major offerings this month. As for the non-horror releases, this is a jam packed month in all forms of entertainment. It’s so crammed that I had to leave off major releases like “Digger,” “Other Mommy,” “Carrie,” “Matchbox,” etc.

1. Crystal Lake- After a 17 year absence, the Friday The 13th franchise is back with a new prequel series revolving around Jason’s mother Pamela. Expectations are high, but let’s hope it’s worth the wait. Oct. 15th on Peacock.

2. Mystery Science Theater 3000- One of the greatest TV series of all time is back with 4 new episodes featuring Mike Nelson, Bill Corbett, Kevin Murphy and a few other familiar faces. 3 episodes will be on RiffTrax’s site and their streaming service in Oct.. The first experiment (“Sting Of Death”) airs Oct. 9th

3. VisionQuest- Vision gets his own series starting Oct. 14th on Disney+.

4. Whatlefall- If the intense trailer is any indication, this survival story about a young man swallowed by a whale looks to be a harrowing experience. Oct. 16th in theaters.

5. Clayface- The Batman foe gets a stand-alone body horror film. Oct. 23rd in theaters. 

6. Star Wars: Galactic Racer- A new Star Wars racing game. Need I say more? Oct. 6th on Xbox Series S/X, PC and PS5.

7. Gears Of War: E-Day- Oct. 6th sees the release of one of the most anticipated Xbox/PC games with this prequel to the original “Gears Of War.”

8. Wildwood- Laika’s latest stop-motion animated epic is an adaptation of the fantasy novel of the same name. If their past filmography is any indication, we’re in for a treat. Oct. 23rd in theaters. 

9. NBA Season 2026-2027- Will the Knicks repeat? Will the stacked 76ers be the new champs? We’ll find out what happens when the NBA season tips off Oct. 20th.

10. Wicker- Will the much memed film about a wicker husband live up to the hype? Tune in to see Oct. 23rd in theaters.
