10 Most Anticipated Films Of 2020

Onward.jpg WW.jpg

After a year full of mega-hits, epic franchise conclusions, indie gems, and, well, a whole lot of high grossing Disney films, 2020 looks to be a rather strange year at the movies. With a few possible exceptions, there could very well be zero billion dollar grossing films this year. It seems the studios are saving their major titles for 2021 and beyond. Of course, it’s quite possible movies will overperform at the box office or that movies will come from out of nowhere to surprise audiences. However the year turns out, there are still numerous films to look forward to. Below I have listed the 10 movies (ok, 11) I am personally looking forward to the most. On with the list!

1. Dune- Frank Herbert’s “Dune” is my all-time favorite so I’m naturally curious to see director Denis Villeneuve’s take on it. While it be another weird adaptation like David Lynch’s version? Will it be more faithful to the novel? Will it be something no one is expecting? Time will tell.

2. Godzilla vs. Kong- The 2 Kaiju titans met once before way back in 1962, but seeing them collide in a big budget big screen epic will hopefully be a cinematic treat.

3. No Time To Die- Daniel Craig’s swan song as James Bond. Need I say more?

4. Black Widow- The first MCU movie of 2020 is the long overdue “Black Widow” movie. Now that the Infinity Saga has come to a close, I’m excited to see what the new era of the MCU will bring.

5. Bill and Ted Face The Music- You can bet I will be at the theater to see if this third entry in the series turns out to be “most excellent.”

6. Last Night In Soho- Edgar Wright’s newest film sounds like an intriguing horror film.

7. Malignant- James Wan returns to his roots with a new original horror film. I can’t wait to see what he has in store for us.

8. Onward and Soul- A double dose of original Pixar films? Yes, please.

9. The Many Saints Of Newark- This prequel movie to “The Sopranos” is sure to be a hot ticket come September.

10. Wonder Woman 1984- Although it will be tough to top the first film, I (like many others) am eager to see what Gal Gadot and Patty Jenkins have cooked up.
