10 Most Anticipated Summer 2021 Movies

The summer movie season (which occurs from May to August) is right around the corner and this year there will actually be big movies in theaters and through various streaming platforms. Below I have listed the 10 most anticipated titles (in my opinion) in no particular order. Keep in mind the dates could change at any time and more titles could be added to the summer movie season. On with the list!
1. Black Widow- Is it true? Is this hotly anticipated MCU film finally coming out this summer? As I type this, it is currently set to hit theaters and Disney+ With Premier Access July 9.
2. In The Heights- I’m always happy to see a movie musical and this one based on the Broadway show by Quiara Algeria Hudes and Lin-Manuel Miranada (who also has a role in this) looks to be a hit. June 11 in theaters and on HBOMax.
3. Luca- How can you not be excited for a new Pixar film given their track record? June 18 in theaters and on Disney+.
4. Snake Eyes- The G.I. Joe franchise has yet to click on the big screen, but this spin-off on the fan favorite character certainly has potential. July 23.
5. The Suicide Squad- Could this be the film that takes DC Films to the next level? We shall see. August 6 on HBOMax and in theaters.
6. Fear Street Trilogy- As someone who grew up on R.L. Stine, I am quite curious to see this trilogy of films based on the book series of the same name. Currently set to hit Netflix this summer sometime.
7. Spiral: From The Book Of Saw- The Saw franchise takes a new direction and I’m here for it. May 14.
8. F9- The beloved saga about family continues with the ninth installment. June 25.
9. Jungle Cruise- I’m still waiting for a great movie based on a Disneyland ride. Could this be the one? July 30.
10. A Quiet Place Part 2- I could have gone with several options for the tenth spot with titles like “Cruella,” “Army of the Dead,” “Stillwater,” or “Candyman,” but I’m quite intrigued to see this sequel after the dynamite trailer released last year. May 28.
