What’s Being Released In July 2021?

The summer season is heating up and so are the entertainment options. July was so packed that I couldn’t include everything I wanted to (sorry, “The Tomorrow War”). There’s something for everyone this month so without further adieu…
1. Snake Eyes- The G.I. Joe franchise returns to the big screen with this spin-off on the fan favorite character. In theaters July 23
2. Monsters At Work- Pixar’s first animated series is a “Monsters Inc” spin-off. Sign me up. July7 on Disney+.
3. Billie Eilish- Happier Than Ever- The superstar musician returns with her long awaited sophomore album on July 30.
4. Summer Of Soul- Questlove’s documentary about the star studded 1969 Harlem Cultural Festival is already receiving rave reviews. Look for this one July 2 on Hulu and in theaters.
5. Black Widow- It’s really happening, folks. A new Marvel film is finally hitting theaters on July 9 (or July 8 for us advanced show lovers).
6. Fear Street Trilogy- This may be a bit of a cheat, but so what? R.L. Stine’s popular horror book series is getting 3 movies in 3 weeks on Netflix July 2, 9, and 16.
7. John Mayer- Sob Rock- John Mayer’s 80’s infused rock album looks to be his best work in years. July 16
8. No Sudden Move- If the trailers are any indication, we’re in for a real treat with Steven Soderbergh’s noirish thriller/crime caper. July 1 on HBOMax
9. Space Jam 4K- The beloved 90’s animated-live-action hybrid hits 4K on July 6. Oh, and “Space Jam: A New Legacy” comes to theaters and HBOMax July 16 if you’re into that.
10. Masters of the Universe: Revelation- I am so very curious to see how filmmaker/writer Kevin Smith revives He-Man. July 23rd on Netflix.
