Top 10 RiffTrax

Riff

One of my favorite things to watch (especially in these challenging times) is RiffTrax. Whether the trio (Kevin Murphy, Bill Corbett, and Mike Nelson) are mocking B-movies, blockbusters, or shorts, their comedic riffs are always guaranteed to make you laugh. Given that they have quite an extensive catalog now, I thought I’d draft up a list of my personal top 10 favorites. Keep in mind I have not seen everything and that these ten are in no particular order.

As to where you can find RiffTrax titles, they are available in several places. Rifftrax.com is obviously the go to place to support them, but you can also find numerous free streaming titles on Tubi TV and Amazon Prime. You can also rent and purchase titles on Amazon Prime. Daily streams are available on Pluto TV and Twitch as well. Lastly, you can purchase DVDs and Blu-rays from the RiffTrax site, Amazon, and other media sellers.

Star Wars Is Now Available On 4K!

SW

The home video event of the year has arrived. Prior to this week only “Solo: A Star Wars Story” and “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” were available on 4K. Now, all 11 Star Wars films are finally available on 4K. Fans have a couple of options in how to purchase the films. Best Buy is currently offering up a massive box set that contains the entire Skywalker Saga for $249.99. The contents include “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace,” “Star Wars: Attack of the Clones,” “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith,” “Star Wars: A New Hope,” “Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back,” “Star Wars: Return of the Jedi,” “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” and “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.” Unfortunately, “Rogue One: A Star Wars: Story” and “Solo: A Star Wars Story” are not included in the set and would need to be purchased separately. Outside of the box set, you can purchase each of the 11 films individually. Alas, the original trilogy titles only includes the special edition versions and not the original cuts. Additionally, it should be noted that the box set contains a 3 disc version of “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.” This set doesn’t contain any new extras that haven’t been available before, it’s just a new reissue. At some point, this 3 disc set will be released on its own as well. Currently each individual title is going for $29.99 or more.

Updated! Ranking The Star Trek Series

Trek1 Star Trek Voyager Star Trek- Enterprise Season 4 Blu-ray

Now that the first season of “Star Trek: Picard” has aired in full, the time felt right to update my Star Trek series rankings. As of right now, “Star Trek: The Original Series,” “Star Trek: Enterprise,” “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” “Star Trek: The Animated Series,” and “Star Trek: Discovery” are available on Blu-ray while “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine” and “Star Trek: Voyager” are only available on DVD. “Star Trek: Picard” will undoubtedly hit home video later this year, but you can watch it now on CBS All Access (which is currently offering a free 2 month trial if I’m not mistaken). You can also watch all of the Trek series on that streaming service as well. Anyway, on with the ranking! Continue reading
