2023 proved to be a rather odd year for televised and streaming series. Several of the very best shows ended their run and several of the very best shows bypassed this year and are scheduled to resume production next year and or release next year. Luckily, there were plenty of new series that wowed viewers, but there were also several high-profile series that turned out to be colossal busts (I’m looking at you “Secret Invasion”). Below I have listed my 10 personal favorite series along with a host of notable favorites. In the words of The Doctor, “Allons-y.”

Traditionally, August is a rather bare month as the summer entertainment season winds down. This August is a different story as there are plenty of major releases. While I could have included more titles like “Bullet Train” and “Day Shift” I ultimately settled on the 10 listed below. On with the list!

October is arguably the busiest month in entertainment in 2 years. In fact, I could have easily made a top 30 this month, but I’m sticking to the usual top 10 list. There’s a little bit of everything this month with new horror offerings, huge movie releases, new albums and reissues, exciting new video games, along with new shows and new seasons of TV series. With many horror sequels, remakes, and reboots on the horizon ala “Candyman,” “Spiral,” and “Halloween Kills,” I thought I’d make up a list of my favorite horror film franchises (in no special order).
