What’s Being Released In August 2022?

Traditionally, August is a rather bare month as the summer entertainment season winds down. This August is a different story as there are plenty of major releases. While I could have included more titles like “Bullet Train” and “Day Shift” I ultimately settled on the 10 listed below. On with the list!

1. Bodies Bodies Bodies- Will this A24 comedic slasher live up to the buzz? We’ll see August 5 (in theaters).

2. Prey- Aside from “Predator 2,” the Predator sequels have been largely atrocious. Early word is this one breaks that mold. August 5 on Hulu.

3. The Sandman- It’s tough to adapt the work of Neil Gaiman, but it’s safe to say we’re all supremely curious about this forthcoming Netflix adaptation on August 5.

4. Child’s Play 1-3 4Ks- With ‘Chucky’ season 2 and the Halloween season approaching, studios are ramping up their release of horror titles. Scream Factory is getting into the spirit of things by releasing the first 3 Child’s Play movies on 4K August 16.

5. Beavis And Butt-Head- The adult animated series classic returns for a brand new season August 4 on Paramount+. This is gonna be cool, uhuh.

6. She-Hulk: Attorney At Law- The latest MCU series hits Disney+ August 17 (with Daredevil appearing!). 

7. House Of The Dragon- Look, we all know ‘Game of Thrones’ did NOT stick the landing at all, but I’m still curious to see how this prequel series turns out. HBO and HBOMax August 21.

8. Rise Of The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Movie- As a lifelong fan of TMNT movies, I’m all in on this new animated feature hitting Netflix August 5 (yes, everything is coming out that day for some reason).

9. Three Thousand Years Of Longing- A new George Miller film starring Idris Elba and Tilda Swinton. What more needs to be said? August 31 in theaters.

10. Coca-Cola Dreamworld- The “space flavored” Coca-Cola Starlight wasn’t the best of flavors, but perhaps this new “dream flavored” soda will fare better? In stores August 15.
