What’s Being Released In October 2021?

October is arguably the busiest month in entertainment in 2 years. In fact, I could have easily made a top 30 this month, but I’m sticking to the usual top 10 list. There’s a little bit of everything this month with new horror offerings, huge movie releases, new albums and reissues, exciting new video games, along with new shows and new seasons of TV series. Enough of my jabbering, on with the list!

1. No Time To Die- After nearly 6 long years since “SPECTRE,” a new Bond film is finally coming out for real this time in theaters on October 8th in the U.S. Let’s hope Daniel Craig’s last entry in the franchise is worth the wait.

2. Dune- The long-awaited new take on Frank Herbert’s masterpiece by director Denis Villeneuve is also at long last hitting the big and small screen (HBOMax to be exact) October 22.

3. Chucky-SyFy hasn’t put out much of note in several years, but on October 12th they are finally releasing something that the horror community is buzzing about. I am talking about the new series based around everyone’s favorite killer doll Chucky.

4. Halloween Kills- I wasn’t a fan of 2018’s “Halloween,” but as a fan of the long running horror franchise, I am still eager to see the follow-up on October 15. The sequel will be available to watch in theaters and on Peacock.

5. Beatles- Let It Be- Beatles fans, it’s time to get excited. On October 12, several new additions of the classic Beatles albums are coming. There are 2 disc and 5 disc set on vinyl, CD and streaming platforms. Fans can expect new outtakes and rehearsals, the unreleased “Get Back” LP, new audio tracks and more.

6. Back 4 Blood- A new FPS video game in the vein of “Left 4 Dead”? Sign me up. October 8 on Windows, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, PS4, PS5 and Xbox Game Pass.

7. Universal Classic Monsters 4K- It’s been many, many decades since “Frankenstein,” “Dracula,” “The Wolf Man,” and “The Invisible Man” and they are still some of the greatest films ever made. Now, you can watch them anew on 4K on October 5.

8. The Many Saints Of Newark- “The Sopranos” is back in big screen prequel form on October 1 in theaters and on HBOMax.

9. Venom: Let There Be Carnage- The hotly anticipated sequel to the Marvel comic book movie also hits theaters on October 1.

10. You Season 3- After a nearly 2 year wait, we all get to see what the creepy killer Joe is up to in season 3 on October 15 on Netflix.
