What’s Being Released In April 2023?

Over the past several years April has seen bigger and bigger entertainment releases and this year is no exception. There’s something for everyone this movie with blockbuster movies, indie movies, big video games, major albums, and even a major convention.

1. The Super Mario Bros. Movie- The first attempt at a Mario movie didn’t exactly go well (to put it mildly). Will this new animated feature get it right? If the trailers are any indication, we’re in for a super treat. April 5 in theaters.

2. Evil Dead Rise- A new installment in the Evil Dead franchise that is reportedly much more horror than comedy. Color me intrigued. April 21 in theaters. 

3. Star Wars Jedi: Survivor- One of the year’s biggest games is this sequel to “Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.” April 28 on Windows, PS5 and Xbox Series S/X

4. Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once And All- It’s time to get nostalgic with this 30th anniversary special featuring cast members from the MMPR series. April 19 on Netflix. 

5. Star Wars CelebrationEurope 2023- Star Wars fans, take note. Even if you aren’t attending the big convention, there promises to be plenty of news, trailers, and yes, movie reveals. April 7-10.

6. Rebel Without A Cause 4K UHD- James Dean’s best film gets the 4K treatment as part of the 100 year anniversary of Warner Brothers. April 18. 

7. Metallica: 72 Seasons- The heavy metal icons are back with a brand new album April 14.

8. Love And Death- I’ll watch anything Elizabeth Olsen is in. April 27 on HBOMax.

9. Dave- One of TV’s funniest shows returns for a third season April 5 on FX.

10. Beau Is Afraid- “Hereditary” and “Midsommar” director Ari Aster is back for what looks to be a very trippy film starring Joaquin Phoenix. April 21 in theaters.
