10 More Favorite Albums

Springsteen DMB

Back in March I posted a list of my 20 favorite albums, but it pained me to leave out some. As such, I have drafted up a new list of 10 more favorite albums. On with the list!

  1. Dave Matthews Band- Before These Crowded Streets- DMB’s 3rd album is the band at their best both musically and lyrically. There’s a reason the band continues to play all 11 tracks on tour to this day.

  1. Cake- Fashion Nugget- There was no sophomore slump with Cake’s best and most well known album. Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of their albums though. They’re a very consistent rock band with a unique sound. They’re also the best thing to come out of my hometown of Sacramento, California!

  1. Bruce Springsteen- Born To Run- With his third album, Springsteen reached a new level of musical greatness with this perfect 8 track album.

  1. The Prodigy- Fat Of The Land- I’m not actually a huge fan of electronic music in general, but this album truly showed what electronic music could be with iconic tracks like “Breathe” and “Firestarter.”

  1. The Strokes- Is This It?- The Strokes first 3 albums are all great, but their debut is still their finest hour.

  1. AC/DC- Back In Black- Every song on here is a rock classic.

  1. Modest Mouse- The Moon And Antarctica- Truth be told, I struggled to pick just one Modest Mouse album as so many of them have been on constant rotation with me over the decades. However, I think ‘Moon’ has a slight edge as it ushered in a new era for the band musically.

  1. Guster- Lost And Gone Forever- The underrated cult band Guster has evolved musically, but, to me, they were at their best with their third album which features catchy tracks like “What You Wish For” and “Fa Fa”

  1. The Raconteurs- Consolers Of The Lonely- “Broken Boy Soldiers” is a smashing debut album, but the band went above and beyond it with an album that covers numerous musical genres and styles.

  1. Blues Traveler- Four- “The hook brings you back” and so does this album.
