Top 10 Most Anticipated Films Of 2016

As 2015 comes to a close, it’s time to start looking forward to 2016’s film slate. While there will surely be surprises and many “to be announced” films, these are the 10 that have piqued my interest the most so far. So, without further adieu…

  1. Rogue One- I love the episodic “Star Wars” films (obviously), but I am much more curious to see the stand-alone films as it is uncharted territory.
  2. Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice- I never thought I’d see Batman and Superman in a film together but it is really happening soon. Granted, the movie could be a bloated mess, but there’s a lot of potential with this project.
  3. Godzilla Resurgence- A new Japanese Godzilla film. What else needs to be said?
  4. Bad Santa 2- This could go either way, but I’m excited to see Billy Bob Thornton reprise one of his best roles again.
  5. Hail, Caesar!- A new Coen Brothers movie is always something to treasure.
  6. La La Land- I’m very interested to see Damien Chazelle’s follow-up to “Whiplash.”
  7. Kubo and the Two Strings- LAIKA’s latest looks to be their most ambitious and visually stunning film yet.
  8. Suicide Squad- At long last, we get to see The Joker and Harley Quinn together on the big screen.
  9. Sully- Hollywood legends Clint Eastwood and Tom Hanks team up for the true life story of pilot Chesley Sullenberger. That sounds like a recipe for success to me.
  10. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows- I don’t expect this to be a great film, but as someone who grew up on TMNT, I am thrilled to finally see Bebop and Rocksteady in a movie. It’s been a long time coming.
