Top 5 Ryan Reynolds Films

With “Mayday” now on Apple TV, this week’s list is dedicated to one of the most popular stars in the movie biz today, Ryan Reynolds. For this top 5 I am only including film roles (or voice roles) so that excludes cameos (which excludes “Harold And Kumar Go To White Castle” sadly) and TV work (otherwise “Welcome To Wrexham” would be tops here). On with the list!

1. Buried- Not only is this an intense and claustrophobic thriller, but it’s a deeply underrated film that doesn’t get talked about nearly enough.

2. Deadpool- The film that changed Ryan Reynolds career. This is a top tier comic book movie that delivers plenty of laughs, action, and memorable characters.

3. Mississippi Grind- This A24 gambling film starring Ryan Reyolds and Ben Mendelsohn is another overlooked gem.

4. Detective Pikachu- It’s downright baffling that there hasn’t been a sequel to this yet given that Pokemon is as big as ever. Easily one of the best video game films ever made. 

5. Smokin’ Aces- It’s not perfect, but Joe Carnahan’s oddball ensemble comedic crime thriller is a must see for the cast alone.
