Top 5 Ridley Scott Films

Prolific filmmaker Ridley Scott once again has a new film in theaters with the post-apocalyptic “The Dog Stars.” In honor of his new release, it felt only fitting to dedicate this week’s list to the legendary director. Scott has had a long and varied career helming everything from epics and sci-fi to gangster films and fantasy and narrowing it down to his top 5 (in my opinion) was a bit of a challenge. Read on to find out what made the list.

1. Alien- The pinnacle of sci-fi monster movies. It’s claustrophobic, scary, surprising, and unforgettable. 

2. Blade Runner- A visually stunning, influential, and ahead of its time sci-fi story based on the Philip K. Dick novel “Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?”

3. Black Hawk Down- A visceral war film about the Battle of Mogadishu.

4. Gladiator- When it comes to epic films of the past 30 years, “Gladiator” stands tall above most. There’s a reason it won Best Picture.

5. The Martian- I pondered the deeply underrated “The Last Duel” or “All The Money In The World” for the 5th spot, but ultimately this gripping sci-fi survival film won out.
