What’s Being Released In August 2026?

The summer entertainment season may be nearing the end, but there’s certainly no shortage of options in August. In fact, it’s rather stacked. Scope out the list below to see what’s in store.

1. The End Of Oak Street- Dinosaurs + David Robert Mitchell. How can you not be intrigued? August 14th in theaters.

2. Lanterns- DC’s long awaited series about Green Lanterns is finally seeing the light of day August 16th on HBO/HBO Max. Let’s hope it’s better than the Ryan Reynolds movie at the very least.

3. Weezer: Gold Album- The beloved 90’s rock band is back with their 20th album August 21st on physical media and streaming platforms. 

4. Ice Cream Man- Not to be confused with the 1995 slasher, 2026’s “Ice Cream Man” is a new horror slasher from Eli Roth. August 7th in theaters. 

5. Star Wars Zero Company- It may not be everyone’s cup of tea, but this turn-based tactics strategy game is bound to appeal to many Star Wars fans and gamers alike. August 27th on Xbox Series S/X, PS5 and Windows.

6. Teenage Sex And Death At Camp Miasma- Jane Schoenbrun’s “I Saw The TV Glow” is one of my favorite films of the past decade. I can’t wait to see what they have in store for this original take on slashers. August 7th in theaters. 

7. Star Wars: Visions Presents The Ninth Jedi- A brand new spin-off of the fantastic “Star Wars: Visions” anime series. August 5th on Disney+.

8. Billy Strings: So Much For Goodbyes- The jamgrass outfit is back with a personal album August 28th on streaming platforms and via physical releases. 

9. Star Wars: The Mandalorian And Grogu 4K- One of the year’s most entertaining blockbusters comes to 4K August 25th.

10. The Dog Stars- Ridley Scott returns to sci-fi with this star studded post-apocalyptic tale. August 28th only in heaters.
