What’s Being Released In November 2021?

The holidays are approaching and studios are continuing to release more and more films, shows, albums, home video releases, what have you. November looks to be yet another stacked month full of entertainment so allow me to single out 10 of the most exciting releases.

1. Ghostbusters: Afterlife- After a lengthy delay and great word of mouth, I’m more pumped than ever to see the newest installment in the Ghostbusters franchise in theaters Nov. 19.

2. Hawkeye- The first 2 episodes of the latest MCU series drop on Disney+ just before Thanksgiving Nov. 24 . 

3. Eternals- After winning an Oscar, I am quite curious to see what filmmaker Chloe Zhao brings to the table with what looks to be an epic and ambitious sci-fi MCU film. 

4. Tick, Tick…Boom!- Lin-Manuel Miranda makes his hotly anticipated directorial debut with this feature film adaptation of the Broadway musical. Look for it on Netflix Nov. 19.

5. The Wheel of Time- Robert Jordan’s fantasy book series makes its way to the small screen on Amazon Nov. 19. Could this be the next big fantasy show ala “Game Of Thrones”? Time will tell.

6. The Beatles: Get Back- Initially conceived as a theatrical documentary, director Peter Jackson has now turned this movie about the making of the “Let It Be” album into a 3 part documentary series with each of the 3 parts airing on Nov. 25, 26, and 27 on Disney+.

7. Cowboy Bebop- It’s no secret that turning an anime series into a live-action property is incredibly difficult. Will this be the series that breaks the curse? Nov. 19 on Netflix.

8. The Harder They Fall- A western starring Idris Elba, Lakeith Stanfield, Regina King and Zazie Beetz? Count me in. Nov. 3 on Netflix.

9. Elvis Presley- Elvis: Back In Nashville- I’ve been a big fan of these Elvis posthumous archival releases the past few years and I’m eager to hear the latest on Nov. 12.

10. Criterion 4Ks- After years of hopes and waiting, Criterion is at long last entering the 4K game with releases of 4 great movies- “Citizen Kane,” “Uncut Gems,” “Menace 2 Society,” and “Mulholland Drive.”
