5 Great Chadwick Boseman Performances

Yesterday the world was shocked to learn that Chadwick Boseman passed away from cancer. Out of respect for the ultra talented man who was taken from this world far too soon, I thought I’d pay tribute to him by singling out the best performances from his magnificent career.

1. 42- This biopic of Jackie Robinson is where I first became aware of Chadwick Boseman. “42” was already moving and important in its own right, but Boseman’s performance blew me away as it elevated the entire film.

2. Get On Up- This biopic about James Brown is long and arduous, but Boseman’s electric performance will keep you glued to your screen

3. Captain America: Civil War- Boseman made his debut as Black Panther in this MCU film and showed just how compelling his take on the layered character was.

4. Black Panther- What is there to say about this great movie that hasn’t already been said? It’s an iconic, inspirational, game changing piece of cinema that Boseman was front and center in. 

5. Marshall- Not a lot of people saw this deeply underrated Thurgood Marshall biopic, but I hope it finds an audience now as it features one of Boseman’s best (if not his best) performance.
