Top 10 Most Anticipated Films Of 2018

2018 is a brand new year and with that comes a new slate of movies. While there are the expected anticipated comic book movies, the year will also offer up a variety of films in other genres from musicals to boxing films. Below I have posted the 10 films I am most looking forward to as of right now. Obviously, the slate will change and there will sure to be films that come out of nowhere, but for now, these are the ones I am most excited about. On with the list!

  1. Solo: A Star Wars Story- Despite all the behind-the-scenes drama and fan fears, I for one have high hopes for this project. Not only am I excited to see possible events that have been hinted at in previous films, but I feel like this film will be a more traditional Star Warsy adventure.

  1. Avengers: Infinity War- This could have easily been my number 1, but regardless, this is going to be THE event movie of the year. Not only could it be the biggest and perhaps best MCU movie, but it just looks like an incredible piece of entertainment.

  1. Godzilla: Planet of the Monsters- Netflix has yet to announce a U.S. release date for this Godzilla animated film, but hopefully, it will be soon. It’s possible the forthcoming sequel will get a U.S. release date this year as well.

  1. Halloween (2018)- This could be much ado about nothing, but I am very intrigued to see Danny McBride and David Gordon Green bring the horror franchise back to basics.

  1. Black Panther- A potential game changer for both comic book movies and Hollywood cinema.

  1. Mary Poppins Returns- While the movie could be filled with callbacks and recycled story elements from the first film, I am deeply curious to see how this sequel pans out if for no other reason than to see the impressive ensemble cast on screen.

  1. Creed 2- The first “Creed” was my favorite film of 2015 and I can’t wait to see the follow-up.

  1. Ready Player One- While the trailers haven’t entirely won me over, I am certainly looking forward to see what Steven Spielberg does with one of my favorite novels.

  1. Deadpool 2- The hilarious Bob Ross marketing alone has me hyped for this sequel.

  1. The 15:17 To Paris- I’m always game for a new Clint Eastwood film. He’s one of the most consistent and varied directors out there.
