10 Random Recommendations Part 6
- The Lego Batman Movie Blu-ray- One of the year’s best films is now on Blu-ray. You have no reason not to pick it up.
- Star Wars: Rebel Rising- One of the latest “Star Wars” novels is also one of the best of the new canon. It’s a riveting Jyn Erso centric story that serves as a perfect companion piece to “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.”
- Battlestar Galactica (2004)- Since BSG has been in the news a lot as of late due to the ATX reunion, it seems like the perfect time to remind peope to check out this series if they haven’t seen it already. To this day, it remains the greatest TV series of all time in my opinion.
- Girlboss- As I was compiling this list, I just learned that it has been canceled by Netflix. It’s a real shame it only lasted 1 season as this was the best new series no one was talking about. A real surprise gem.
- Costa Vida- I don’t mention food much on this site, but I’m actually quite the foodie. If you happen to have this chain near you, consider yourself fortunate as it is quite tasty. Check out anything involving the delicious sweet pork.
- Rare Replay- Fans of video games will want to pick up this collection on Xbox One that includes a ton of retro games from the prolific studio Rare. Sadly, “Goldeneye” is not included though.
- 1776- I’ve been in a musical mode as of late and, as such, I’ve been watching some older releases I never got around to for some reason or another. “1776” is the best of the “new to me” films that I have seen. It’s long, but it never feels long as you’re so engrossed by the acting and story (even though you know what happens).
- Cars 3- Theatrical movie wise, it’s a bit of a dead zone right now aside from “Wonder Woman,” but the third entry in Pixar’s “Cars” franchise is surprisingly good. I’m not going to say it’s great (it’s not), but it is still a moving story that is significantly better than “Cars 2” and a number of recent Pixar releases (I’m looking at you “Finding Dory” and “The Good Dinosaur”).
- Guitar Pendants And Art- Fans of crafts, art and unique gifts should check out the tubular Kathryn’s incredible handmade guitar pendants and hand drawn portraits over on Etsy at https://www.etsy.com/shop/frenziedsilence
- Jedi Council- As a huge “Star Wars” fan, I naturally gravitate towards “Star Wars” programming. This weekly web series over on Collider is one of my personal favorites thanks to the knowledgeable and personable guests and hosts.
