Top 5 Eli Roth Films

Eli Roth is in the news lately with his latest film “Ice Cream Man” now in theaters. Now feels like the perfect time to evaluate the filmmaker’s top 5 films (in my humble opinion).

1. Cabin Fever- Eli Roth’s first and still best film. The filmmaker is truly at his best when he mixes horror with comedy (“Pancakes!”).

2. The House With A Clock In Its Walls- Roth proved he could go outside the horror genre with this underrated fantasy film adaptation boasting an A-List cast.

3. Hostel- One of the best entries in the “torture porn” subgenre. 

4. Thanksgiving- Although the “Grindhouse” trailer is better than the feature film, this is still a fun holiday slasher that has an incredible opening Black Friday sequence.

5. Knock Knock- It was between “The Green Inferno” and “Knock Knock” for the final spot. Ultimately, “Knock Knock” wins out for featuring Ana de Armas in her unforgettable breakout role. The camp value doesn’t hurt either.
