Top 5 Christopher Nolan Films

There’s no question that Christopher Nolan is one of the biggest filmmakers in the movie biz today. Despite how one may feel about his entire filmography, his impact on cinema is undeniable. With his latest opus in “The Odyssey” now in theaters, it’s time for a new ranking of his 5 best films (in my humble opinion).

1. Oppenheimer- There’s a reason Christopher Nolan won Best Director for this project. It’s his most complete, accomplished, and important film. 

2. The Dark Knight- It’s almost a cliche at this point, but this is the film that not only changed superhero films, but catapulted Nolan’s career to different heights. 

3. Memento- Truth be told, I wish Nolan would make more films like this one. He certainly seems to prefer huge budgets these days, but this film showed he could craft a creative neo-noir thriller on a relatively low budget. 

4. The Odyssey- The scope and thematic depth are staggering. A true epic.

5. Dunkirk- It’s not a perfect film and it definitely could have used more characterization, but as a war film, it’s a one of a kind experience.
