Ranking The 5 Toy Story Films

It’s been 31 years since “Toy Story” debuted and the beloved franchise continues on with the newly released “Toy Story 5.” Now is as good of a time as any to rank the five theatrical Toy Story films.

1. Toy Story 3- Could the series have ended with this third entry? Yes, but as we have found out, there’s plenty of life left in this franchise. With that said, this is far and away the most emotional of the series and the ending is perfect.

2. Toy Story- Not only did the first installment take the world (and the animation world) by storm, but it made the fledgling Pixar a household name. It is a true classic and it made Woody and Buzz generational pop culture icons.

3. Toy Story 2- A worthy follow-up to the first. The inclusion of Jessie elevated the film as a whole.

4. Toy Story 5- While a bit too frantic for its own good, the final half-hour is downright rewarding and dare I say tear jerking. 

5. Toy Story 4- The fourth entry is the black sheep of the series, but it’s still a good film thanks to memorable new characters like Forky. As far as I’m concerned, Toy Story is the rare franchise where every film is a winner.
