10 Random Recommendations Part 34

New month, new list. Here we go.

1. Goldeneye- After months and months of rumors and speculation, one of the best video games of all time makes its way to Xbox Game Pass and Nintendo Switch. Personally speaking, it’s been a blast reliving the game again. The only bummer is the Xbox version doesn’t have online multiplayer.

2. Party Down- Before season 3 releases in 11 days (it only took 13 years), now is the perfect time to catch up on the first 2 seasons of this hilarious cult comedy classic.

3. The Ascent- For 2023, I’ve made it a goal to catch up on films I have yet to see and this 1977 Soviet war film was one of them. Without saying too much, it’s a haunting war film that doesn’t unfold like you would expect.

4. Green Day- Nimrod- The new 25th anniversary edition box set release of the underrated Green Day album contains all sorts of outtakes, bonus tracks and live tracks. Play it loud.

5. Mystery Science Theater 3000- Now that all of the episodes have been released digitally from the newest season, it’s a good time to check them out. I particularly recommend “Munchie” and “Robot Wars.”

6. Marvel Studios’ Assembled: The Making Of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever- Lately I’ve found myself enjoying these behind-the-scenes specials more than the films or shows themselves and this one is no exception. Of all the Assembled specials currently released, this one might have the biggest deep dive into all facets of production.

7. Phish- The Gorge ‘98- You can’t go wrong with 2 Phish shows from one of their peak years.

8. 1923- For those that are missing “Yellowstone,” this “1883” sequel and“Yellowstone” prequel is currently airing new episodes on Paramount+.

9. Bubba Ho-Tep- For those that have yet to experience this cult classic (and Bruce Campbell as Elvis), check out the new 4K release from Scream Factory.

10. 2022 Sight And Sound Poll- For those looking to expand their cinematic horizons, the latest poll (which happens every 10 years) offers up a good starting point for film buffs. If you’re already a serious film fan, you’re bound to discover some underseen gems on the top 250 films list as well.
