What’s Being Released In January 2023?

The new year is around the corner and in typical January form it’s a bit light in the entertainment department. Worry not, however, as there’s still something for everyone to kick off 2023.

1. Poker Face- Writer/director Rian Johnson turns his attention to a brand new mystery series starring Natasha Lyonne. Jan. 26 on Peacock. 

2. Mountain Dew Pitch Black- The beloved Dew flavor returns in January alongside Pitch Black Zero Sugar and Pitch Black Energy.

3. Star Wars: The Bad Batch- What better way to kick off the new year than with a brand new season of the underrated Star Wars animated series? Jan. 4 on Disney+.

4. M3GAN- This movie could go either way, but I’m always down for a killer robot doll. In theaters Jan. 6 in theaters.

5. The Last Of Us- The hit post-apocalyptic video game is now poised to be the big new geeky TV obsession. Jan. 15 on HBO/HBOMax.

6. Green Day- Nimrod: 25th Anniversary- It’s hard to believe it’s been 25 years since the fantastic Green Day album’s release, but here we are. This new edition on CD and vinyl will be a 3 disc set with demos and live material. Jan. 27

7. Infinity Pool- After “Possessor,” I’m curious to see what director Brandon Cronenberg has up his sleeve with this new feature film. Jan. 27 in theaters.

8. The Adventures Of Baron Munchausen Criterion 4K- Terry Gilliam’s cult film gets the Criterion treatment. Jan. 3 on home video

9. Kaleidoscope- This stylish new heist series looks to have real potential. Jan. 1 on Netflix.

10. Koala Man- Will this quirky new Australian superhero animated comedy be the next animated series gem? We’ll find out Jan. 9 on Hulu.
