What’s Being Released In October 2022?

Halloween season is here and with it brings a ton of new horror film and TV series releases. While much of this list is horror related, there are a few non-horror entertainment titles as well.

1. Halloween Ends- The third and final chapter of director David Gordon’s Halloween trilogy is almost here. What will happen to Laurie Strode, Michael Myers and the rest of the characters? We’ll just have to wait and see when the film releases October 14 in theaters and on Peacock.

2. Terrifier 2- The first ‘Terrifier’ was easily one of the best slasher films of the past 20 years. I’m eager to see what this 138 minute (yes, you read that right) epic sequel has in store for us horror geeks. Oct. 6 in select theaters.

3. Hellraiser (2022)- The Hellraier franchise has been inconsistent (to say the least) but this new David Bruckner directed reboot looks to revive the franchise in new and exciting ways. October 4 on Hulu.

4. Black Adam- After a quiet couple of months at the theaters, DC/WB hopes to have a new box office hit on their hands with this ‘Shazam’ spin-off starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson in the title role. October 21 in theaters.

5. Chucky Season 2- The first season of ‘Chucky’ blew everyone’s expectations away and turned out to be one of 2021’s best series. Thankfully, Season 2 is right around the corner on October 5 on SyFy.

6. The Midnight Club- Mike Flanagan returns with a new horror series based on the novel by author Christopher Pike. What more needs to be said? October 7 on Netflix.

7. Gotham Knights- After numerous delays, the hotly anticipated new Batman universe video game hits Xbox Series X (and S), Playstation 5, and Windows October 21.

8. Wendell And Wild- After a 13 year absence, one of the greatest stop-motion animation filmmakers around (Henry Selick) returns with a brand new original film on Netflix October 28.

9. Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities- A Guillermo del Toro created horror anthology series? Sign me up. 2 episodes per day on Netflix October 25, 26, 27 and 28.

10. Star Wars: Tales Of The Jedi- Dave Filoni returns to the world of Star Wars animation with six short-ish stories about the characters of Ahsoka and Count Dooku. October 26 on Disney+
