Ranking The Fast And The Furious Movies

With “F9” now in theaters in the U.S., now felt like the right time to take a look back at the epic saga about family. Yes, I’m talking about the now 20 year old Fast and Furious franchise. Below I am ranking all 10 films including the spin-off “Hobbs and Shaw.” Start your engines and get ready for the list!
1. Fast Five- It’s rare that a sequel surpasses the original. It’s even more rare that the fifth installment is better than the first. Such is the case with “Fast Five.” Not only does this Justin Lin directed film take the franchise in an entirely new direction, but it has the best action in the entire series.
2. Fast And The Furious: Tokyo Drift- A refreshing departure from the norm in this franchise. Also, Han Lue rules. Period.
3. The Fast And The Furious- The first entry in the series holds up surprisingly well.
4. Furious 7- The last film featuring the late Paul Walker. The emotional ending alone gives “Furious 7” a place in the top 4.
5. Fast And Furious 6- The thrilling runway sequence elevates the movie as a whole.
6. Fast And Furious Presents: Hobbs And Shaw- The first spin-off is big dumb fun. Jason Statham and Dwayne Johnson bicker, Vanessa Kirby steals the movie, the cameos are magnificent, and the action sequences are top notch. What’s not to like?
7. The Fate Of The Furious- Not even Charlize Theron could save this forgettable eighth entry in the series.
8. Fast and Furious- The fourth film may have reunited Paul Walker and Vin Diesel, but there’s something off about this one tonally.
9. F9- A bloated mess of a sequel that sorely missed the presence of The Rock (and the late Paul Walker for that matter). The action is ridiculous (in an eye-rolling, head shaking way), John Cena adds nothing to the franchise, and the comedy falls flat.
10. 2 Fast 2 Furious- A cartoonish sequel with more irritating Tyrese scenes than one can handle. It’s amazing this didn’t derail the franchise completely.
