10 Random Recommendations Part 28

10 new recommendations for you just in time for the weekend. Enjoy!

1. Goose- Shenanigans Nite Club- The best kept secret in rock music is the Connecticut band Goose. Their new album is their best studio work yet.

2. Star Wars: Heir To The Empire- The Essential Legends Collection- Del Rey is paying homage to the older non-canon Star Wars novels with new tall paperback releases from a line called The Essential Legends Collection. The first wave includes “Path Of Destruction,” “Shatterpoint,” and the fan favorite first installment in author Timothy Zahn’s Thrawn trilogy- “Heir To The Empire.” Not only is this where Thrawn and Mara Jade were first introduced, but this post-”Return of the Jedi” set book ushered in a new era of Star Wars literature.

3. Cruella- I’ve largely been unimpressed by the live-action Disney projects as of late, but this “101 Dalmatians” prequel is a blast thanks to powerhouse performances by Emma Stone and Emma Thompson.

4. Master Of None Season 3- The Denise centric season 3 took the Netflix comedy-drama in a new direction as the show explored relationships, marriage, and parenthood.

5. The Indiana Jones 4-Movie Collection 4K- Sure, it may not have new extras, but the 4K picture quality and Dolby Atmos audio tracks make you feel like you are seeing the Indy series anew.

6. Mountain Dew: Baja Punch- The 100 Days Of Baja summer Mountain Dew event is in full swing and this new tropical punch flavor is among their best in years.

7. The Amusement Park- George A. Romero’s lost film is now available to see only on Shudder.

8. Gamora And Nebula: Sisters In Arms- This new YA Marvel novel by author Mackenzi Lee explores the dynamic between the sisters in the pre-MCU time period where both were teens doing the bidding of Thanos. Expect lots of characterization, twists, and action.

9. Billy Strings- Home- One of the best bands in the biz right now is this bluegrass strings outfit led by Billy Strings himself. I may be a little late to the party on this, but this album is a fantastic intro to the band.

10. Godzilla Vs. Kong 4K- One of the year’s most entertaining movies is now on home video. The 4K  release boasts one of the best audio tracks (Dolby Atmos to be exact) I’ve ever heard.
