A new batch of recommendations for you all!
1. Weezer- OK Human- The 90’s alternative rock band returns with a relevant new album that ranks among their best.
2. Judas and the Black Messiah- Of all of the Awards contenders, this intense and gut wrenching film based on a true events is one of the best.
3. Battlebots: Bounty Hunter- This Discovery+ spin-off to “Battlebots” is just as fun as the flagship show.
4. Elizabethtown: Paramount Presents Blu-ray- Cameron Crowe’s underrated romantic comedy-drama deserves more attention.
5. Batman: Soul of the Dragon 4K- A top tier DC animated film (and Batman animated film).
6. Last Train from Gun Hill- I’ve been on a western kick lately and this Kirk Douglas and Anthony Quinn starrer is an underappreciated gem.
7. This Was Hollywood: Forgotten Stars And Stories Book- This TCM book by author Carla Valderrama puts the spotlight on former movie stars (human and animal) that perhaps don’t get the recognition they deserve these days (Puzzums the Cat and Gracie Allen to name a couple) as well as revealing stories about the likes of Paul Newman and Eleanor Powell. A must read for fans of classic Hollywood.
8. Billie Eilish: The World’s A Little Blurry- A revealing documentary about modern teen life, family, and a musician’s meteoric rise to fame.
9. Goose- Ted Tapes 2021- Goose is one of my favorite modern bands and this new album full of instrumental jams is the perfect showcase for their skills as musicians.
10. Star Wars: Episode 1 Racer- The HD re-release of the classic 1999 pod racing game benefits from improved graphics and super smooth controls. Available on Nintendo Switch, Steam, Xbox One, and Playstation 4.
