What’s Being Released In October 2020?

October looks to be a very busy month in the world of entertainment with plenty of high profile shows, horror genre offerings, award worthy movies, along with some major album releases. Below I have singled out the top 10 releases to look out for. I certainly could have done a top 20 for this month, but I can always talk about those releases elsewhere. On with the list!

1. The Mandalorian- It feels like it’s been years since season 1 given how agonizingly slow and chaotic 2020 has been, but the sophomore season is almost upon us. With characters from past Star Wars films and shows rumored to make an appearance, this could be more mindblowing than we ever dreamed of. Oct. 30

2. The Haunting Of Bly Manor- Mike Flanagan’s hotly anticipated follow-up to “The Haunting Of Hill House” arrives Oct. 9! Even though it has nothing to do with the previous series, it looks to be just as creepy!

3. Monsterland- As a sucker for horror anthology series, I am all in on this new Hulu horror anthology series. Oct. 2

4. Bruce Springsteen- Letter To You- The Boss is back with new music. Need I say more? Oct. 23.

5. Star Trek: Discovery- After a lengthy delay, the third season of DISCO (as the Trek fans call it) is finally set to hit CBS All Access. After the season 2 finale, I cannot wait to see where the show goes from here. Oct. 15

6. Star Wars Squadrons- I don’t play a ton of video games these days, but I am excited for this new space battle centric SW game. Oct. 2

7. Helstrom- A new horror Marvel series on Hulu? Color me intrigued. Oct. 16

8. Books of Blood- A great series of books from author Clive Barker is being turned into a new Hulu film. Oct. 7

9. Tom Petty- Wildflowers- One of the greatest albums of all time is getting several new deluxe editions (including a 5 disc version) with new tracks, live recordings, and home recordings. Oct. 16

10. The Trial Of The Chicago 7- Aaron Sorkin’s latest is already getting major Oscar buzz. Will it live up to the hype? Oct. 16 on Netflix.
