10 Random Recommendations Part 19
With the weekend ahead, your friendly neighborhood DVDCorner writer is here to provide you with some recommendations (and a few things to look forward to).
- 23 Weeks Of Star Trek- Starting Aug. 6 there will be 23 weeks of new Star Trek episodes on CBS All Access beginning with the animated “Star Trek: Lower Decks” and then “Star Trek: Discovery” season 3 episodes starting October 15. As someone starved for sci-fi content, this is certainly heavenly news.
- Wonder Woman: The Complete Collection- While we all wait for “Wonder Woman 2” to come out (whenever that actually might be), why not check out the live-action TV series now available on Blu-ray? A review is coming soon!
- Trey Anastasio- Lonely Trip- Phish singer Trey Anastasio dropped a superb surprise solo album today which consists of his quarantine session songs.
- Grateful Dead: Shakedown Stream- A new Friday night tradition has begun with airings of Grateful Dead concerts/films on YouTube which are also preceded by pre-shows featuring interviews with fellow musicians and so forth.
- NBA- Sports fans should be happy to know that the NBA has restarted. Here’s hoping a new team wins the championship this year.
- The Outsider Season 1 Blu-ray- The underrated HBO series based on Stephen King’s novel has just hit home video. Now is as good of a time as any to binge this creepy series.
- Paul McCartney- Flaming Pie (Archive Collection)- Also released today is this stacked new version of the 1997 album with demos, outtakes, unused songs and more.
- Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure and Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey- With“Bill and Ted Face The Music” almost upon us, it’s a good time to revisit the first 2 sci-fi comedy classics.
- The Rental- Dave Franco’s new horror film is worth, well, a rental.
- Muppets Now- The Muppets are back, but this time on Disney+ with an unscripted anthology show. At this time, the first episode is up and it’s certainly worth a gander if for no other reason than to see the Swedish Chef’s hilarious segment.
