10 Random Recommendations Part 18

Marriage Con

Dear readers, it’s time for another round of recommendations!

  1. Travel Man- For those of you familiar with Richard Ayoade from “The I.T. Crowd” and “Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace,” check out his highly amusing and informative travel show which is now available in the U.S. via Hulu.

  1. Marriage Story Criterion Blu-ray- One of 2019’s best films gets a fantastic new Criterion release.

  1. Bruce Lee: His Greatest Hits- Sadly, it doesn’t appear I will be reviewing this one, but I for sure will plug it as this new set includes all 5 of Bruce Lee’s films (including “Enter The Dragon”) and a ton of extras.

  1. Criterion Barnes And Noble Sale- This is the last Criterion mention, I promise! For those wanting to stock up on Criterion discs, B&N is currently having a 50% off sale (which is always the best deal for Criterion titles). The sale ends August 2, 2020.

  1. Comic-Con@Home- San Diego Comic-Con may not be happening, but there will be a digital version that runs July 22-26 which features numerous panels that will be streaming online.

  1. Xbox Games Showcase- What new Xbox titles are coming? When will “Halo Infinite” come out? What’s going on with Xbox Live Gold? We will hopefully find out July 23, 2020 at 9 am PST.

  1. Star Wars: The Clone Wars- Bad Batch Arc- With the reveal of the “Star Wars: The Bad Batch” series coming in 2021, now is the time to catch up on the 4 episode arc on these characters from “Star Wars: The Clone Wars” season 7.

  1. Friday The 13th Collection- Deluxe Edition Blu-ray set- Jason fans unite1 Scream Factory has announced a new 16 disc Blu-ray set of the beloved horror franchise. Pre-orders are now available.

  1. Brave New World- The new streaming service launched this week with this brand new 9 episode series based on the classic sci-fi novel. I’m only a few episodes in, but so far this series is really grabbing me.

  1. Palm Springs- It’s been a largely poor year for cinema due to a lack of titles and some truly atrocious movies, but this Hulu sci-fi romantic comedy is worth your time. Contrary to popular belief, it doesn’t reinvent time loop movies, but it’s the best in that genre since “Happy Death Day.”
