10 Random Recommendations Part 16
It’s time for another round of recommendations from yours truly. Hopefully there is something here that will bring you joy. On with the list!
- Doom Patrol Season 2- The first 3 episodes of season 2 just landed on HBOMax today. I think we could all use more quirky weirdness in our life right now.
- Star Wars: Queen’s Peril- It feels like I read a review copy of this ages ago, but the prequel to “Queen’s Shadow” is now available. “Star Wars” fans (especially prequel era lovers) should seek it out.
- Neil Young- Homegrown- After sitting on a shelf since 1975, Neil Young finally released the much coveted unreleased album. Did it live up to the long wait and hype? Yes! That “Florida” track is really odd though.
- ‘Round Midnight Preserves- Benefit concert streams seem to be a daily occurence now, but this one aimed at aiding the legendary Preservation Hall was arguably the best of the year due to a plethora of fantastic performances featuring Dave Matthews, Irma Thomas, Elvis Costello, Dave Grohl and Paul McCartney. You can watch the nearly 4 hour show on YouTube right now.
- Gladiator 4K Steelbook- Ridley Scott’s epic has never looked or sounded better than with the new 4K release. You also get an insane amount of extras on the Blu-ray discs (over 300).
- Keyforge- Fans of card games like Magic: The Gathering might want to scope out this fun and strategic card game from Fantasy Flight Games.
- Batman 4K- With the joyous news of Michael Keaton returning to the role of Batman this week, what better time than now than to pick up the 1989 Batman film on glorious 4K?
- John Mayer- Where The Light Is: John Mayer Live In Los Angeles- It’s been out for several years now, but this live album really showcases Mayer’s range and talent as a musician.
- Cobra Kai- Before season 3 is released on Netflix in the near future, seasons 1 and 2 should absolutely be on your watch list if you have yet to see the shockingly good Karate Kid sequel series. It wouldn’t hurt to watch all 4 of the original films either to catch all the references, easter eggs, and connections.
- Star Wars Squadrons- Another Star Wars entry? You bet! This forthcoming video game was announced out of the blue recently and, if the gameplay footage is any indication, this could become the next video game addiction. You can pre-order it now.
