10 Random Recommendations Part 14
Another week, another batch of recommendations!
- Guster- OMAGAH! Guster With The Omaha Symphony- Last week Guster dropped a fantastic live album in which the band was accompanied by a symphony. You can head over to https://guster.bandcamp.com/ to stream it for free or purchase it.
- Valley Girl (2020)- I was initially skeptical about this jukebox musical remake of the 80s cult comedy, but it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Not only is the cast first rate, but it’s filled with cheeky meta moments.
- Dave Matthews Band: Drive-In- Every Wednesday fans can watch an archival concert over on DMB’s YouTube page or at davematthewsband.com/drivein at 8pm EST.
- Top Gun 4K- In honor of Top Gun Day today, I thought I’d remind you that the excellent 4K disc arrives next week (May 19, 2020 to be exact).
- Nugs.net- For the music and concert lovers out there, check out this streaming service that offers up albums along with audio and some video concert streams from bands like Metallica, Pearl Jam, Dead and Company, and more. Listeners can get a free 30 day trial to test it out. Shows can also be purchased.
- Blues Traveler- Straight On Till Morning- Blues Traveler’s fifth album is a deeply underrated gem that deserves more recognition.
- Homeland- Now that the series has wrapped, it’s as good of a time as any to binge one of Showtime’s best series.
- Fluxx- For those into card games, Fluxx is a fun way to pass the time. Gamers have the option of picking any number of themed versions from Firefly to Cthulhu.
- The Last Drive-In- For those that have the Shudder streaming service, this Joe Bob Briggs hosted series is the best original content on there. Not only can you watch great or goofy horror films, but you get hilarious stories from the famed critic and cult movie expert.
- Doom Patrol- With season 2 just being announced for June 25 on HBO Max, I highly suggest checking out the wild and crazy first season of the DC Comic based series.
