The Tracker Blu-ray Review

Track.jpg

“The Tracker” will bore you to tears.

10 years after Aiden’s wife and daughter are abducted, held for ransom, and later murdered, he returns to the scene of the crime after learning there may be new details on the unsolved case. Alas, the man with the intel has died. Aiden decides to take matters into his own hands to get answers and seek justice. Elsewhere in the story you can expect to see plots about a new police commissioner (Antonio) and corrupt cops.

As you can no doubt tell from the above synopsis, “The Tracker” is as generic as can be. There is nothing remotely original about this direct to home video release. It’s simply a disposable movie made for the international market to capitalize on the star power of Dolph Lundgren. Speaking of Lundgren, he had been on a roll lately with quality performances in “Creed 2” and “Aquaman.” With “The Tracker,” however, he looks completely disinterested and I can’t blame him as this Giorgio Serafini scripted and directed “revenge thriller” is virtually unwatchable.

I wish I had something positive to say, but every aspect of this movie is a disaster. The characters are one-dimensional, the villains have zero development (seriously, who are they outside of a label?), the editing is choppy, the shaky cam cinematography is a mess, the drama is devoid of emotion, and the action (namely the hand to hand combat and shootouts) is frightfully dull and sluggish. Lundgren and his fans deserve much better.

Video/Audio:

Presentation: 2.40:1 1080p. How does it look? Well, at least the transfer looks good…

Audio Track: 5.1 DTS-HD MA. How does it sound? Not the best quality but passable.

Extras include: Lionsgate trailers, a Digital copy, and a trailer for “The Tracker.”
