10 Most Anticipated San Diego Comic-Con 2018 Panels
San Diego Comic-Con is now one week away and the buzz is already mounting as to what sort of announcements, trailers, and so on we will be seeing in all forms of media. Having poured over the panel listings, I thought I would chime in with what I am personally excited to hear about and or hopefully see online as I will not be attending myself. Of course, there is some speculation involved here on my part, but that goes without saying. Anyway, on with the list!
1. Warner Brothers- It goes without saying that this is THE big panel of this year’s SDCC. While much of the panel will undoubtedly be devoted to upcoming DC films (which I’m all in for), I am salivating to get a first glimpse at 2019’s “Godzilla: King of the Monsters.”
2. Doctor Who- I’d be shocked if we don’t get to see our first look at new showrunner Chris Chibnall’s first season. As a longtime Whovian, I am thrilled to see what this new era will look like and how Jodie Whittaker will make The 13th Doctor her own.
3. Star Trek: Discovery- While I’m all for learning more details about the show’s second season, I am more curious to know if we’ll hear anything more about the mysterious Patrick Stewart Trek project and or any of the other rumored spin-offs.
4. Hasbro Star Wars- For the toy lovers out there, I’d wager Hasbro will be announcing new action figures from their various toy lines.
5. The Dragon Prince- This upcoming Netflix animated series just came in my radar and I already want to know more.
6. Disney-Lucasfilm Publishing- As an avid reader of “Star Wars” books, I’m hoping we get some big announcements here like the rumored Padme novel.
7. Star Wars: The Clone Wars 10th Anniversary Panel- This could just be a loving retrospective, but you never know what will be revealed at this panel. Maybe a sneak peek at the upcoming “Star Wars Resistance” animated series? New Clone Wars episodes? Time will tell.
8. IDW Comics- Since I review IDW comics frequently, I am eager to see what the underrated comic company has in the pipeline.
9. Iron Fist- As one of the few people who didn’t hate the first season of “Iron Fist,” I’m looking forward to hopefully seeing a trailer for the second season. It’s also not out of the realm of possibility that we’ll get more news or footage from other future Marvel Netflix seasons as well.
10. Shout/Scream Factory Reveals- In what has become a tradition now, Shout Factory and Scream Factory will likely be announcing a wave of new titles. Here’s hoping we get some exciting new reveals.
