Star Wars: Choose Your Destiny- A Han And Chewie Adventure Book Review
“Star Wars: Choose Your Destiny- A Han And Chewie Adventure” is a fun read.
With the release of “Solo: A Star Wars Story” a few weeks away now, a new tie-in book titled “Star Wars: Choose Your Destiny- A Han And Chewie Adventure” has recently hit the shelves. For those that aren’t aware, this is a “Choose Your Own Adventure” style Star Wars book for young readers. The plot revolves around Han Solo and Chewbacca on the Millennium Falcon as they attempt to deliver stolen Imperial tech to Jabba The Hutt. Unfortunately, their journey hits a literal block (an Imperial blockade to be exact). From there on out, the story unfolds in a variety of ways including a trip to a planet where they encounter other shady characters.
From the opening page, it’s clear writer Cavan Scott understands SW. Not only does he capture Han and Chewie exceedingly well, but he has crafted a story filled with intense and fast paced action, humor, and wit. On top of all of that, he’s created a “Choose Your Destiny” novel that allows readers to choose a whole host of actions including fighting, lying, and escaping things. There are numerous dead ends readers will reach, but there is one ultimate ending that is apparently canon!
The book is accompanied by illustrations by artist Elsa Charretier. The art (which is clearly modeled after “Solo: A Star Wars Story” era versions of characters) has a manga style look to it only it’s very colorful. It goes well with the story to be sure.
Overall Thoughts: Given that “Star Wars: Choose Your Destiny- A Han And Chewie Adventure” has a repeat reading factor, this book is an absolute bargain for the low price it is going for. Check it out now wherever books are sold.
