10 Random Recommendations Part 5

Logan Oklahoma Suspicion

With each passing month there seems to be more and more entertainment options. With so many to choose from, it can understandably be hard to pick what to watch, play, or read. Luckily, I can help. Yes, some of the stuff on this list is older, but so what? Most of the best entertainment is not current after all. At any rate, I have provided 10 random recommendations that includes everything from a video game to musicals. On with the list!

The Book of Mormon- Whether you’re fortunate enough to see it on tour (or on Broadway) or merely want to listen to the soundtrack, you can’t go wrong with this fiendishly clever and brilliant musical.

Wonder Woman- It’s in theaters right now. Go see it.

Injustice 2- The hotly anticipated sequel of the DC Universe centric fighting video game did not disappoint from a storytelling or playing perspective.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 Season 11- The new season on Netflix needs more love. I feel like not enough people are talking about this which is a real shame. Yes, the season starts off uneven, but there’s some all-time classics on here like “Starcrash” and one of the greatest MST3K episodes of all-time “The Christmas That Almost Wasn’t.”

Master of None Season 2- The second season of this hilarious and groundbreaking Netflix series is essential viewing.

Oklahoma! (1999)- Shout! Broadway’s recent release of a filmed stage production of “Oklahoma!” starring Hugh Jackman is essential for fans of musicals.

Suspicion Blu- This may be an older Warner Archive release, but you can’t go wrong with some classic Alfred Hitchcock.

Twin Peaks- Funny, maddening, confusing, weird, baffling- the new “Twin Peaks” is all of these things, and yet, I can’t stop watching and wondering where it will go next.

25 Mystery Science Theater 3000 Films That Changed My Life In No Way Whatsoever- For the MST3K fans out there, might I recommend this hilarious book by TV’s Frank himself Frank Conniff? It’s filled with plenty of rants, ramblings, off-topic essays and sometimes some insight into his work on the cult classic series.

Logan Blu-ray- I know I put “Logan” in a previous random recommendation list, but now that it’s on Blu-ray, I have to plug that. It still remains the film of the year as far as I’m concerned.
