Top 5 Star Wars Rebels Episodes

Star Wars Rebels Season 2 Blu-ray

With season 3 of “Star Wars Rebels” finally debuting tomorrow (Sept. 24, 2016), it’s as good of a time as any to celebrate the highlights of the first two seasons thus far. For the moment, these are my top 5 episode picks, but I will update this list down the line if need be. On with the list!

  1. Twilight Of The Apprentice- The crown jewel of “Star Wars Rebels.” This 2 parter has it all- Darth Maul, Ahsoka, Darth Vader, a Sith Temple, lightsaber duels, expanded mythology, a major event happening to a main character, characterization, the list goes on. This is “Star Wars” at its finest in any medium.
  1. Fire Across The Galaxy- One thing is for certain, “Star Wars Rebels” sure knows how to end a season. The season 1 finale was far and away the best part of the debut season as viewers learned of Fulcrum’s identity, witnessed an epic lightsaber duel and were treated to an enticing cliffhanger that led into season 2.
  1. The Lost Commanders- As a huge fan of “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” this episode was very emotional to me. I was surprised how happy I was to see Wolffe, Gregor and especially Rex again in a post “Revenge of the Sith” environment.” “Star Wars Rebels” hasn’t quite reached the heights of ‘Clone Wars’ just yet, but if they deliver more satisfying episodes like this, it’s well on its way.
  1. The Siege of Lothal- Season 2 kicked off with a bang as fans got to see Darth Vader at his most menacing. This is the type of Vader we have all wanted to see more of. Hopefully, we get even more of this Vader in “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” too!
  1. Idiot’s Array- Since we can’t seem to get Billy Dee Williams as Lando back in a live-action film yet, seeing him in animated form is the next best thing. Yes, this is a rather silly adventure (a puffer pig?), but there’s something delightful about seeing the smooth and charming Lando pre-“Empire Strikes Back.”
