Digital Entertainment Group announces 3D titles for the holiday season

In a move that is long overdue, DEG announced a boatload of titles for starving 3D system owners, who up until now, have had only a few titles available.  Most of the titles are computer animated movies, with some HD documentaries also available.  Overall, I’m not that impressed with the titles.  The list, including some of the first from studios like Disney, should address some consumers concerns about title availability, although some manufactures continue to promote “exclusive” titles, only available when purchasing a certain 3D system, a move which really doesn’t help the overall 3D adoption situation.   Continue reading

Ladies & Gentlemen The Rolling Stones

Back in the days before HD broadcasts of concerts at movie theaters, live footage recorded for posterity on film was a rare treat for music fans. So, the release in 1974 of a full-length film of The Rolling Stones – then possibly the best rock band going – performing on their Exile On Main St. tour was something to shout about. This first DVD release of this incredible work proves that the shouting needn’t be dimmed by 35+ years.
