15 Most Anticipated Summer 2026 Films

The summer movie season (which I consider to be May-August) is almost upon us and it’s looking quite stacked. There’s so much coming out that I decided to extend my list from 10 to 15. There’s something for everyone this summer be it comic movies, sequels, and even new films from indie auteurs. Read on to find out what’s in store.

1. The Mandalorian And Grogu- After an agonizing 7 year wait, Star Wars will be back on the big screen.

2. Jackass 5- The fifth and final installment of the hilarious long-running franchise.

3. Supergirl- “Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow” is a great comic series. Hopefully this adaptation does it justice.

4. Evil Dead Burn- After “Evil Dead Rise” surpassed expectations, I’m curious to see what’s in store next for the horror franchise.

5. Spider-Man: Brand New Day- A new Spider-Man movie is always a big event.

6. The Odyssey- Christopher Nolan’s adaptation of the Greek epic is sure to be one of the most talked about films this summer.

7. Teenage Sex And Death At Camp Miasma- Jane Schoenbrun’s “I Saw The TV Glow” was my favorite film of 2024. This follow-up looks to be another winner.

8. The End Of Oak Street- “Under The Silver Lake” is one of my favorite films of the past decade and I can’t wait to see what David Robert Mitchell has in store next.

9. I Want Your Sex- I will watch anything Gregg Araki does.

10. Disclosure Day- Anytime Steven Spielberg does a sci-fi movie you know something special is in store.

11. Toy Story 5- Does there need to be another Toy Story film? Probably not, but they’re all superb. Hopefully that streak continues here.

12. Scary Movie- The sixth installment looks like it’s going all out to bring back not so PC comedy.

13. The Dog Stars- A new sci-fi film from Ridley Scott? I’m sold.

14. Hokum- A new indie horror film starring Adam Scott from the director (Damian McCarthy) of the original horror films “Caveat” and “Oddity.”

15. Backrooms- This sci-fi horror film based on the creepypasta story is generating quite the buzz.
