What’s Being Released In April 2026?
Traditionally May is when the summer movie season kicks off, but over the years March and April have seen blockbuster releases across the board. This April is no exception as there is something for just about everyone.
1. The Christophers- Ian McKellen in a new Steven Soderbergh film? Sign me up. April 10th in theaters.
2. Faces Of Death- This could easily be yet another garbage horror remake, but the storytelling approach has me intrigued. April 10th in theaters.
3. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie- Even though I found the first film profoundly disappointing, I’m hopeful the Yoshi starring sequel will fare better. April 1st in theaters.
4. Star Wars: Maul- Shadow Lord- The animated series Star Wars fans have been waiting a long time for is finally coming our way. The season kicks off April 6th on Disney+.
5. The Phantom 4K- One of the most underrated comic book films is getting the 4K treatment with new bonus features courtesy of Kino Lorber.
6. Foo Fighters: Your Favorite Toy- One of the best rock bands around has a brand new album April 24th.
7. Michael- Antoine Fuqua’s anticipated Michael Jackson biopic is sure to be a hit. April 24th in theaters.
8. Stranger Things: Tales From ‘85- For those that preferred the earlier seasons of “Stranger Things” (like myself), you’re in luck. This new animated series is set between seasons 2 and 3. April 23rd on Netflix.
9. Mouse: P.I. For Hire- Originally slated for March, this unique cartoon inspired noir FPS is now set to release April 16th on Nintendo Switch/Switch, PS5, PC and Xbox Series S/X.
10. Margo’s Got Money Troubles- This new David E. Kelley series starring Elle Fanning, Nicole Kidman and Michelle Pfeiffer could be the next big TV hit. April 15th on Apple TV.
