Ranking The Taylor Sheridan Created Series

March is poised to be a big month for Taylor Sheridan fans as he has 2 brand new shows coming with “Marshals” and “The Madison.” In the meantime, I thought I’d take a look back at all of the Sheridan created series with a new ranking.
1. 1883- This sweeping emotional western prequel mini-series about the Dutton family settling in Montana is the best thing Sheridan has ever done for TV. I only wish it went on longer.
2. Tulsa King- As ridiculous as the premise is for this gangster series, the superb ensemble cast led by Sylvester Stallone makes this one a winner. It’s the most fun and laidback Sheridan series to date.
3. Yellowstone- There’s no doubt Kevin Costner departing the series caused the show to implode in the final season, but before that, this sprawling modern western was a rich and absorbing drama that tackled a great many subject matters from land to family heritage.
4. Lioness- An uneven spy thriller, but when it works it really works. The cast featuring Nicole Kidman, Morgan Freeman, Zoe Saldaña and Martin Donovan completely elevates the show as a whole.
5. 1923- Inconsistent and perhaps a bit rushed, but this star studded series featuring the likes of Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren and Timothy Dalton certainly had its moments.
6. Landman- Billy Bob Thornton is great as per usual, but the writing for female characters on this show is downright embarrassing.
7. Mayor Of Kingstown- Not even Jeremy Renner can save this not so subtle, bleak and violent crime thriller.
