It’s Valentine’s Day and you might be looking for something romantic to watch. If you’re tired of the same old rom-coms, allow me to offer up 10 recommendations of underrated romantic films. On with the list!

1. Eternity- One of 2025’s most underrated films is this romantic comedy set in the afterlife. Now available to stream on Apple TV. 

2. Quiet City- Meet cute mumblecore style.

3. Trust- I’ll never miss an opportunity to recommend a Hal Hartley film. 

4. My Old Ass- A deeply emotional, funny, tragic, and beautiful movie about young love and fate.

5. Love Is Strange- A heartfelt gay romance about a longtime married couple that is forced to live apart due to financial circumstances. 

6. Fever Pitch (1997)- Forget about the dreadful 2005 version with Jimmy Fallon and scope out the original with Colin Firth. 

7. The Purple Rose Of Cairo- Bittersweet though it may be, this is a wonderful film about cinema and yearning.

8. Much Ado About Nothing (1993)- A miscast Keanu Reeves aside, this is a rewarding Shakespeare adaptation.

9. Remember The Night- A charming Christmas film/romantic comedy.

10. Forget Paris- An overlooked gem with some great NBA cameos.
