5 Recommended Movies Involving Skiing

With the 2026 Winter Olympics starting today, it seems only fitting to do a movie list dedicated to a winter sport. Below I have listed 5 movies that feature skiing. They may not all be about skiing, but have key skiing scenes.

1. Eddie The Eagle- One of the strangest and most delightful underdog stories about a real-life Olympian. Taron Egerton and Hugh Jackman are sublime here.

2. The Spy Who Loved Me- You can’t think of skiing without thinking of James Bond movies. Over the years the franchise has had numerous intense skiing sequences, but there’s been none better than the opening sequence in “The Spy Who Loved Me”

3. Frozen- This one is a bit of a cheat, but this deeply underrated 2010 horror film about a trio of friends stranded on a ski lift is a must see.

4. Downhill Racer- Robert Redford + Gene Hackman. What more needs to be said?

5. Olympic Dreams- Not a perfect film by any means, but the wonderful performances mixed with the fact that this indie was filmed during the 2018 Olympic Village makes this a rewarding viewing.
