10 Most Anticipated 2026 Films

2026 is poised to be a big, big year for cinema. There’s something for everyone this year with comic book movies, sci-fi sequels, the return of Star Wars, originals, and literary adaptations. Of course, as with every year, there’s bound to be surprises or little known indie movies that take the cinema world by storm. Below I have singled out 10 films that have caught my eye the most (in no particular order).

1. Dune: Part 3- “Dune Messiah” is a fascinating novel and I can’t wait to see how it’s adapted.

2. The Mandalorian And Grogu- By the time this comes out it will have been nearly 7 years since the last theatrical Star Wars film. It’s high time for a new era of Star Wars films. Let’s hope something special is in store.

3. Masters Of The Universe- I’m deeply curious to see what director Travis Knight does with the He-Man universe. It’s ripe with potential and the filmmaker has already worked wonders in the Transformers world (“Bumblebee”) and the realm of stop-motion animation (Laika’s productions).

4. Flowervale Street- Originally scheduled for 2025, this David Robert Mitchell film was bumped to August 2026. I have no idea what this movie will look or feel like, but after “Under The Silver Lake,” I’ll watch anything he makes.

5. Avengers: Doomsday- A new Avengers movie is always an event.

6. Supergirl- After a brief tease in “Superman,” Supergirl gets her own DCU film. The fact that it’s based on the fantastic “Supergirl: Woman Of Tomorrow” comic book mini-series has me even more intrigued.

7. Godzilla Minus Zero- “Godzilla Minus One” is one of the best films of the past decade. Hopefully the sequel will be just as impressive.

8. The Odyssey- Christopher Nolan tackles Homer’s “The Odyssey” in what is sure to be one of the most talked about films of 2026.

9. Spider-Man: Brand New Day- Spidey’s back. What more needs to be said?

10. Ray Gunn- A new Brad Bird animated film that gives off pulp sci-fi vibes? I’m down for that all day.
