What’s Being Released In October 2025?

There’s no other way around it, October is a stacked month. Naturally, there’s a lot of horror coming to theaters and TV, but there’s a big variety of music, shows and movies as well. Studios are starting to put out their Award hopefuls so it’s likely many of the year’s best films will be coming in October through the end of the year. Read on to find out what’s in store for October.

1. Tron: Ares- The 15 year wait is nearly over. A new Tron film will arrive at last October 10th in theaters.

2. Shelby Oaks- Fellow film critic Chris Stuckmann makes his directorial debut with this buzzed about horror film. October 24th in theaters. 

3. Good Boy- A haunted house movie told through the POV of a dog? This is a fresh and exciting concept that I can’t wait to see play out. October 3rd in theaters. 

4. Squeaky Feet: Overview Effect- The deeply underrated jam band’s new album is scheduled for release October 10th.

5. Frankenstein- A new Guillermo del Toro film. What more needs to be said? Oct. 17th in theaters. 

6. Blue Moon- Anytime Richard Linklater has a new movie it’s an event for me. The first of two films out this year is this biodrama about the opening of the “Oklahoma!” musical. Oct. 17th in theaters. 

7. The Black Phone 2- The Grabber is coming back to theaters Oct. 17th.

8. Springsteen: Deliver Me From Nowhere- The Boss is finally getting a biodrama. This one covers the period in which Springsteen is making the classic album “Nebraska.” Oct. 24th in theaters. 

9. Vicious- Filmmaker Bryan Bertino returns with a new horror film starring Dakota Fanning. Oct. 10th on Paramount+.

10. IT: Welcome To Derry- Pennywise the Clown returns with a new prequel TV series on HBO Oct. 26th.
