What’s Being Released In July 2025?

With Summer in full effect, the studios are bringing out their big tentpole films. Worry not, however, as there are plenty of TV shows, events, and so forth as well. Read on to find out what’s in store this month.
1. Superman- Comic book movie and comic book fans alike are buzzing to see how this much anticipated James Gunn written and directed take on the Man of Steel will turn out. July 11th in theaters.
2. Jurassic World Rebirth- As someone who doesn’t like any of the sequels (“The Lost World” is OK), it’s hard not to groan about yet another installment in this ongoing franchise. With that said, there is one reason that ‘Rebirth’ gives me some hope and that is director Gareth Edwards. If anyone can turn this series around it’s him. July 2nd in theaters.
3. Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 3- The best modern Trek series is back on Paramount Plus July 17th.
4. San Diego Comic-Con 2025- Even though Marvel is skipping this year’s event, there will undoubtedly be a ton of movie and TV news spilling out of this convention. July 24th-27th.
5. I Know What You Did Last Summer- One of the more intriguing summer offerings is this new sequel to the 90’s slasher classic. July 18th in theaters.
6. The Fantastic Four: First Steps- Can the MCU finally get F4 right? We’ll find out July 25th in theaters.
7. Happy Gilmore 2- Can this sequel to one of Adam Sandler’s best comedy films deliver a hole in one? Look for this one on Netflix July 25th.
8. Doctor Who: The 13th Doctor Adventures: Vampire Weekend- For those who wished there were more Jodie Whittaker (the 13th Doctor) and Mandip Gill (Yaz) stories, you’re in luck. Beginning July 3rd, Big Finish is putting out a brand new series of audio dramas featuring the 13th Doctor and Yaz starting with ‘Vampire Weekend.’
9. Eddington- Ari Aster’s latest film is already getting polarizing reactions which makes me all the more interested. Even if it’s a dud, the director’s ambitious work is more compelling than most of what hits the screens these days. July 18th in theaters.
10. Quarterback- One of the best sports documentary series of the past decade returns for another round July 8th on Netflix.
