10 Random Recommendations Part 46

It’s been a bit slow in the physical media department lately so it’s time for another round of recommendations.
1. Freaky Tales- Considering Pedro Pascal is everywhere lately, it’s baffling why this 80’s Oakland set Pascal starring anthology film has gone under the radar. It’s a future cult classic to be sure.
2. Squeaky Feet 4/27/25- Squeaky Feet is the best kept secret in jam band music. A recent show in Iowa City featured an absolutely mind blowing 91 minute jam for the track “Lucky Number.” Play it and or buy it here on Bandcamp: https://squeakyfeet.bandcamp.com/album/2025-04-27-gabes-iowa-city-ia
3. Grand Theft Hamlet- One of 2025’s best films is this little seen indie gem about the pandemic, art, “Grand Theft Auto,” loneliness, real life and game life, and Shakespeare.
4. Celtics City- You don’t have to be a Celtics fan to appreciate this incredible HBO documentary series that not only covers the history of the Celtics, but the history of the NBA, America, and Boston itself.
5. Doom: The Dark Ages- Fans of the long-running FPS video game franchise will treasure the latest gory installment.
6. Dead Mail- An unusual and original indie horror-thriller that deserves more attention.
7. The Clubhouse: A Year With The Red Sox- It’s been a great year for sports documentaries and this peek inside the Red Sox clubhouse proved to be nothing short of fascinating. It’s like a real life “Major League.”
8. Side Street Blu-ray- One of the year’s best discoveries was this Anthony Mann directed film noir that has recently been released from Warner Archive.
9. Billy Strings and Bryan Sutton- Live At The Legion- This surprise live album is a must for bluegrass fans.
10. The Ugly Stepsister- This grotesque body horror film is NOT for everyone, but horror fans will likely be drawn to this fiendishly clever take on the “Cinderella” story.
